Fun Fact Friday – Lesson’s Learned from Old Flames – Old Flame Blog Tour

Annabelle Blume Headshot1

When authors write a book, sometimes the title invokes a few questions.  Well – or it is an excuse to ask evasive questions.  Annabelle Blume’s new release Old Flame,  makes me wonder about lesson’s learned from past relationships. So, since Ms.Blume wrote the book, I had to know what she took away from her past ‘old flames’.

Take it away Annabelle!

Way back in the day, when I was in my very early twenties, I was engaged to someone who was absolutely, unequivocally wrong for me. And I was wrong for him, too. We never got married, so I was able to avoid the terrible mess that would have been that divorce. But it took years of being with the RIGHT one before I was able to look back on that relationship and understand what I had learned from being with the wrong one.

The thing is, I didn’t learn anything I didn’t already intrinsically know. It’s just that I was too young, too inexperienced, and was sorely lacking in examples of what a healthy, functioning relationship looked like.

So, after three and a half long years with Mr. Wrong, here’s what I learned:

1. There are no absolutes. What is unacceptable to one person is just fine for another. Everything exists on a continuum and only you know where your limits lie.

2. Listen to your heart when it says you’ve reached one of those limits.

3. Don’t ignore the red flags. They don’t get better, they get worse.

4. A guy that can’t pass his classes or hold a job isn’t trying to find his way, he’s a loser.

5. If you feel like you’ve been down that road before, you probably have. Time to start looking at your patterns and learn from your mistakes.OldFlame_Cover_Layers

Hannah must come to terms with her own demons before she can decipher between her delusional mission the man of her dreams.

bio Annabelle is a best-selling Romance and New Adult author, that is, when she’s not checking homework or begrudgingly cooking dinner. Wife, mother, and creator of alternate worlds, Annabelle has a penchant for that which is outside the norm.

Her degree in Sociology has given her the ability to construct worlds that exist only in her head and translate them passionately to the page. The time spent studying individuals, interpersonal relationships, and particularly, women, within the constraints of our society led to Annabelle’s unabashed ability to talk about sex as it fits into our modern lives.

She’s also the author/personality of The Bombshell Mommy at Vitacost.com where she helps modern Bombshells and their families live “green”.
