Memorial Day

In the United States, today is Memorial Day. A day to honor and remember those that have given their lives in the armed forces. I choose to not only honor those men and women, but to also thank and pray for each and everyone one of their families. Don’t forget that each person who serves is a son or daughter, husband or wife, brother or sister, mom or dad. They have meant something to someone.

These men and woman, those who have served or are serving, deserve our respect whether you agree with everything that is going on in the world or not. Not because they did something valiant today or yesterday, but because they chose a profession that went beyond the average persons comfort zone and they could or have paid with the ultimate price – their lives.

These service members inspire my writing every day. My hero’s are veterans in hope that in the bigger picture of life we remember there is always someone out there who has gone through something tougher.

Happy Memorial Day.
